We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the inspired Word of GOD. It is therefore authoritative and inerrant (Matthew 5:18; John 16:12 – 13; II Timothy 3:16 – 17; Hebrews 4:12; II Peter 1:19 – 21). We believe in one Triune GOD, existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of GOD, became man, without ceasing to be GOD, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal GOD and redeem sinful man (Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:26 – 38; Philippians 2:5 – 11).
We believe that the Holy Spirit of GOD is a person of the Triune GODHEAD, equal with the Father and the Son (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians13:14), who executes the plan of GOD by aiding believers in the Christian way of life (John 14:26 – 29, 16:13 – 15; I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19; Ephesians 1:13 – 14, 3:16).
We believe in the personality of Satan, who is the open and declared enemy of GOD (Job 1:6-12; Isaiah 14:12-17; Matthew 4:2-11).
We accept and hold to a literal interpretation of the Genesis account of creation (Genesis chapters 1 & 2).
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of GOD but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, became alienated from GOD and is totally unable to retrieve his lost condition apart from the grace of GOD.
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner, being born of Mary, who was a virgin (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:35).
We believe that sin originated with Satan through as he disobeyed GOD and that GOD is not in any way the author of sin or temptation (James 1:13).
We believe that the solution to sin is redemption and atonement:
The only way to escape condemnation of sin is through the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross (John 3:1-7, 13-18; Romans 5:10; II Corinthians 5:17-21; Galatians 3:22-23; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 4:15).
This atonement for sin is accomplished by Christ breaking down the barrier between man and GOD (John 3:3; Romans 3:23, 6:23; I Corinthians 1:29-30; Galatians 3:26; Colossians 1:14, 2:14; II Peter 2:1; I John 2:2).
Salvation is the supernatural work of GOD {regeneration or new birth} whereby eternal life plus many other wonderful things are imparted by grace to any who trust in Christ (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5, 7).
We believe that grace is a gift of God that cannot be earned or deserved, but depends on who and what GOD is (Ephesians 2:8-9).
We believe that salvation is the gift of GOD brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the LORD Jesus Christ whose precious blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10):
Sinners must be born again (John 3:3-7);
The new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus (Acts 16:31; II Corinthians 5:17);
It is an instantaneous birth and not a process (John 3:36; Ephesians 2:1);
A born-again one receives the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9);
A born-again one receives instantaneously many wonderful things in Christ, such as eternal life, righteousness, sonship, etc (John 3:16; Romans 8:17; II Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:26; I John 5:11);
Faith in Christ is the only condition of salvation (Acts 16:31);
Nothing of works can secure or keep salvation secure (Ephesians 2:8-9;Titus 3:5).
We believe that all believers are kept secure forever.
We believe justification is the judicial act of GOD whereby He declares righteous the one who has believed in Christ.
We believe that spirituality is an absolute condition in the life of a believer in this dispensation wherein he is filled or controlled by the Holy Spirit, walking in love and fellowship with the LORD.
We believe that each believer is commanded to walk in truth, faith and the Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible declares the eternal state of the righteous and the wicked:
We believe that the souls of those who have trusted in the LORD Jesus Christ for salvation do at death immediately pass into His presence, and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the body at His coming, when soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in glory;
The souls of unbelievers remain after death in conscious misery until the final judgment of the great white throne at the close of the millennium, when soul and body reunited shall be cast into the lake of fire, not to be annihilated, but to be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the LORD and from the glory of His power (Luke 16:19-31, 23:43; II Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Revelation 20:11-15).
We believe that the Church, which is the body and bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born again persons of this age irrespective of their affiliation with Christian organizations, but for the purpose of truth and administration it is necessary to organize upon the basis of the New Testament teaching concerning local churches (I Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:24-27):
We believe that the LORD Jesus Christ instituted the Ordinances of Believers Baptism by immersion and the LORD’s Supper to be observed until His return (Matthew 28:19-20, I Corinthians 11:2, 23-26):
BAPTISM
(1) For believers only (Acts 8:36-39 & 18:8; (2) The immersion of the believer in water (Matthew 3:16 & Acts 8:38-39; (3) Signifies and illustrates our identification with Christ, His death, burial and resurrection (Romans 6:3-5 & Colossians 2:12);
2. THE LORD’S SUPPER (1) For believers only (1 Corinthians 11:23-28); (2) A commemoration or remembrance of the LORD and His death until He returns (Matthew 26:26-29 & I Corinthians 11:23-28); (3) Must always be preceded by solemn self-examination and personal confession of sin to GOD (I Corinthians 11:28 & I John 1:9).
We believe that every believer is in full-time Christian service and has the responsibility to witness at home and around the world (II Corinthians 5:18-20):
Every believer personally and through the local church has the responsibility to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 24:44-48, John 17:18 & 20:21);
The application of this commission was to be done in the power of the Holy Spirit as outlined in Acts 1:8.
We believe in complete separation of church and state (Matthew 22:15-22):
Civil government (nationalism) is a divine institution appointed for the good of human society and the Gospel (Romans 13:1-7);
We are admonished to pray for rulers, honor and obey them except where they oppose the Word of GOD and the will of Christ (II Samuel 23:3, Acts 4:29, 23:5 & I Peter 2:13-17).
We believe that Satan seeks to hinder the work of the LORD by inviting believers to ignore the Word of GOD and accept false doctrine (2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15; I Timothy 4:1-2, 6):
We believe that GOD the Holy Spirit in grace and apart from human merit sovereignly bestows spiritual gifts to believers in this dispensation:
Some of the permanent spiritual gifts which exist today are: pastor-teacher, evangelist, administrator, helper, giving and showing mercy.
We further believe that the temporary spiritual gifts ceased with the completion of the canon of Scripture and these were: apostleship, prophecy, speaking in tongues, interpreting tongues, healing and working of miracles (Romans 12:4-8; I Corinthians Chapters 12-13; Ephesians 4:7-13).
We believe that the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy will be the coming of the LORD Jesus in the air to receive to Himself the dead in Christ and believers who are alive at His coming, otherwise known as the Rapture and translation of the Church (I Corinthians 15:51-57;I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-14);
We believe that the Rapture of the Church will be followed by the fulfillment of Israel’s seventieth week, the latter half of which is the time of Jacob’s trouble, the Great Tribulation (Jeremiah 30:7; Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15-21; Revelation Chapters 6-19, 21);
We believe that the Great Tribulation will be climaxed by the (premillennial) return of the LORD Jesus Christ to earth to set up His Kingdom (Zechariah 14:4-11; Matthew 24:15-25, 46: II Thessalonians 1:7-10; Revelation 20:3-6).
